What is done, what is doing
Done: runway country. The June trial landing (aircraft VT-CNS, water-cannon salute near Pipli) certified in the most physical way possible that the airside works. Doing: the terminal fit-out and systems phase, then the licensing sequence every Indian airport walks: DGCA processes, calibration, trial operations, commercial licensing. That sequence is why "runway ready" and "airport open" sit months apart even in smooth projects.
The checklist behind the status line
Reading the target honestly
The current window (late 2026, variously September-October to December in coverage) follows a missed December 2025 target, in a project whose opening dates have slipped since roughly 2010. Two things are simultaneously true: dates here have a slipping history, and the project has never been this physically close. A buyer should hold both truths and price neither as certainty, which is exactly how our advisory conversations frame it.
What to watch next, in order
Licensing milestones (DGCA processes and any aerodrome licence news), a commissioning announcement from AAI or DIACL, and only then airline schedule filings.
